Teo appeared one spring morning on the Tea River, along with his 8 little brothers. All so small that they could not yet open their eyes. They were floating on the surface, shivering and scared, moaning but there seemed to be no one to help them. The water was cold and they were hungry, they had left them apart from their mother.
It had just rained and timidly peeked into the rainbow.
A ranger who happened to pass by heard them, looked like a baby crying and saw something move inside a sack, so he went into the river without hesitation and rescued them.
Rainbow unicorn
At that moment little Teo felt the aroma of the flowers and the human warmth in the arms of that guard, he fell asleep deeply knowing that he was already safe, so he forgot to cross the world of the stars with his little brothers.
The guard looked for a house to take him to and found ours. Teo was so tiny, all cotton, white and soft, fit in my hand. I made a warm bottle and he ate it whole. I wrapped him up with a blanket and he went back to sleep.
The next morning she opened her eyes, clear blue and looked at me deeply for a while. She curled up on my lap and slept peacefully.
Every day everything was new to him. I took him for walks in the woods, on the beach, in the countryside, everywhere. The flowers, the soft breeze moving his fur, the cotton clouds over the blue sky, he liked what he saw around him and it seemed that his new family as well.
Teo was so greedy, he didn’t leave a drop in the bottle. So he started growing very, very fast.
He also started running and playing very soon. Now he’s almost as big as me.
He loves to cum on fresh grass, smell the flowers and chase the butterflies. He also chases the birds, although they don’t like to be scared, so he’s not the first to peck him.
Its coat is so white that when it plays with flowers stand out in it like a rainbow of small colored leaves.
Many times he lies on the porch, it is so big that lying there looks like a carpet.
On the beach he runs along the shore splashing the water at his trot. He loves to swim and see himself reflected when the water is clear and calm as a huge mirror.
Some nights, when it starts to get dark, I see him staring at the shining stars where his little brothers live, I’m sure he tells them how happy he is now. He probably misses them too, probably as much as they miss him.
Teo is frightened by the sound of firecrackers and sounds reminiscent of hunters shooting in the forest. He stands and trembles, until we stroke his back and go home.
He never leaves me, he always accompanies me, everywhere.
This is the real story of my Teo. He always sleeps by my bed, now he takes care of me, protects me and watches over my dreams.
